Dental zirconia blocks is very popular for most market for its biological compatibility and good performance on milling and aesthetic field.
White dental zirconia is still popular for big labs because it is no need to prepare too much stock for different shaded zirconia disc. But there maybe some problem when make dyeing for zirconia crowns. Let’s see what problem it may occur and how to avoid those problems.
Common problems - Lighter or darker color
Reasons:
1. Check the shelf life of the corloing liquid (general 3 months). There may be excessive impurities in the expired coloring liquid, it will cause the color to become darker. Replace the staining solution if it is expired.
2. Improper storage for coloring liquid. The liquid should be stored at a temperature of 10-16C.
3. The operation method is incorrect, please operate in correct method according to the instruction.
4. If the maximum sintering temperature is lower, the color of the tooth will be darker. And the color will be lighter if the sintering temperature is high. So correct sintering temperature is necessary for each crown.
5. The dying time will also influence the color. If the color is too light, increase the soaking time. If the color is too dark, reduce the soaking time of the crown.
6. The usage of incisal liquid will also affect the color of the crown, so apply it appropriately.

Do you also have other problem like incorrect color, too opaque, black point for the crowns?
